Azarphesha is a small, candle-lit restaurant a couple of streets from Freedom Square in Tbilisi, opened in 2013 by folklorist Luarsab Togonidze together with Pheasant’s Tears winemaker John Wurdeman. Named after the silver ladle Georgian nobles once used to drink wine, the intimate room is lined with antique folk objects. Its kitchen focuses on wild, seasonal and genuinely local plates rather than tourist standards, paired with natural Georgian wines including Pheasant’s Tears. The result is an authentic dining experience rooted in Georgian craft and the country’s natural-wine culture.
